The Elder Dragons

The Elder Dragons take the place of gods in other settings. There are at least nine of them known -- those nine correspond to the nine alignments, and to the nine planes. (Make a Knowledge: the Planes check.) They fulfill the functions of gods, channeling divine power to the clerics who serve them, and providing a variety of Domains dependent on their position. (Make a Knowledge: Religion check.)

The Great Dragons

The Great Dragons, far weaker than an Elder Dragon, (yet able to single-handedly lay waste to an army) are the rulers of the physical world. The countries of the world pay homage to the Great Dragons, and many of the noble families of the world have their high positions due to the dragon blood their ancestors granted them.
